CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Remote Area Medical, or RAM, is looking for volunteers to provide free medical, dental, and vision care at an upcoming clinic March 21-22 in Fishersville.

There’s also a need for supporting staff in various capacities at the two-day clinic where care is provided to those in need.

The event is hosted by the UVA RAM Campus Chapter at the Augusta Expo Center at 277 Expo Road in Fishersville.

According to an UVA RAM Chapter appeal, general support volunteers are needed to help set up on Friday, Mar. 20 and take down on Sunday, Mar. 22.

Overnight parking volunteers to greet patients are also needed, and interpreters can volunteer to aid patients through the process, either in the parking lot or during clinic operations.

Individuals do not need to work in the medical field to volunteer as general support.

The services, according to RAM, include free dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental X-rays, eye exams, eye health exams, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made onsite, women’s health exams, and general medical exams.

Services are free, and no ID is required.

Organizations of individuals who would like to volunteer time to help provide free healthcare services to the Fishersville and surrounding communities can visit  https://www.ramusa.org/volunteer or call 865-579-1530.
