ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA — (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The sentencing hearing for Anthony Eugene Robinson has been continued until December 23, 2025, in Rockingham County Circuit Court.

Robinson had been found guilty by a jury back in January in connection with the deaths of two women, whose bodies were found in a shopping cart off of Linda Lane in Harrisonburg back in November of 2021. The jury deliberated for less than an hour.

Robinson, who was dubbed the “shopping cart killer,” had been found guilty of two counts each of first-degree murder, aggravated murder and concealing a body.

The defense filed a motion to set aside the jury verdict due to the admission of certain evidence and comments made during closing arguments by the Commonwealth.

Defense attorney, Abigail Thibeault, was appointed in May and made the argument that she will need to be debriefed on the case as well as provide expert testimony for the sentencing hearing.
