CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The City of Charlottesville has advised about four road closings to come from January through March at Jefferson Park Avenue and Stadium Road.

Although the closings will be overnight to minimize traffic impact, the time period occurs over about half the spring semester on streets through the Grounds of UVA.

The closings are in association with construction of the Verve high-rise apartments at the JPA and Stadium Road intersection.

According to a city release, the first closure will be Jan. 11 through Jan. 15 on northbound JPA from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. nightly.

A detour will use Valley Road.

A second closure is southbound JPA Jan. 18 through 23 at the same times.

The detour will be southbound Stadium Road.

At dates and times to be determined, there will be 24-7 road closures both north and south on JPA, and a separate closing of Stadium Road.

JPA and Montebello will remain open during that Stadium Road closure, and Stadium Road will be a detour during the JPA closure.
