The University of Virginia will add a new structure to the Corner Business District. Chief Operating Officer Pat Hogan says UVA has acquired the old Student Book Store on University Avenue. The building will house an alcohol-free facility.

UVA will open the new facility in the late fall. He described it Thursday to representatives of the City, County and UVA. Albemarle’s future Police Chief Ron Lantz told the same group about last month’s Foxfield races. Lantz says there was a big improvement in the students’ behavior. Lantz will become the county’s police chief on June 1st.
