Albemarle Police investigating fatal pedestrian accident on 29

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Albemarle County Police are looking for help investigating a fatal pedestrian accident on 29 north of Hydraulic Road. Police have not released a lot of information in the incident, but say 59-year old Charlottesville resident Charles Russell Gray was a pedestrian on 29 in the area of India Road around 7:15 Tuesday evening when he was hit by a vehicle. He was transported to UVa where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The crash remains under investigation by the department’s Fatal Crash Reconstruction Team, and they ask anyone with information to contact their traffic unit 434-296-5807 or Crime Stoppers 434-977-4000 or email “crimestoppers@albemarle.org”.
