ACPD makes arrest in child pornography case

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – On Tuesday, August 8, 2023, the Albemarle County Police Department opened an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material based on a tip received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, members of the Albemarle County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division arrested 23-year-old Albemarle County resident, Christopher Neill Moore, on five counts of the following:

  • 2-374.1:1- Knowingly possess child pornography.

After Moore’s initial arrest, Albemarle County detectives continued their investigation into his illegal activity. On Monday, September 11, 2023, Moore was charged with an additional 5 counts of:

  • 2-374.1:1- Knowingly possess child pornography.
