The Monticello Wine Trail organization is a non-for-profit organization that exists to promote and encourage cooperation amongst the various Central Virginia wineries. These award-winning wineries have helped raise Central Virginia’s ranking to the fifth largest wine producing state in the nation. The idea of a celebration of these wines, in downtown Charlottesville, began in 2011. This year, the festival has grown to 3-days with expanded programming to include various wine focused events.
