Virginia’s Secretary of Transportation has told a new panel that’s focusing on Route 29 congestion to find some common ground. Aubrey Layne says highway officials have been studying the 29 corridor since the late 1970’s. Layne doesn’t want to spend the next four years waiting for a solution. In addition to Mayor Satyendra Huja (pictured) and other local representatives , the panel has members from Warrenton, Culpeper, Lynchburg and Danville. Turner Perrow of Lynchburg wants a Route 29 solution that will benefit the entire corridor from Gainesville to Danville. The panel will hold two more meetings on April 10th and 24th. They will be held at a building near the University of Virginia observatory.
