Training Camp Opens For Virginia Football

Monday evening from the McCue Center, Virginia Football held its first practice in August heading into the 2014 season.

Head Coach Mike London addressed members of the media prior to practice giving some opening thoughts.

“It’s been a while since we’ve had a chance to be on the field…so we’re excited about the opportunity it presents to see new guys in new positions and [to] see us improve and perform.”

When asked about the off-season London said, “I believe the players feel that the training and lifting and running and unity that’s been created during the off-season has been significant for us.”

Practices this week are set to start later in the evening than in years past.

“When you’re dealing with the humidity at times it is appropriate to practice a little later, and the fact that we have an indoor [facility] it makes it all the more special,” London said.

Training camp will be open to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. from the McCue Center.
