What to call the Washington Redskins is a hot button issue, but people who want to keep the name have three Northern Virginia lawmakers on their side. State Senator Chap Petersen and GOP Delegates Jackson Miller and David Ramadan have formed what they call a “Redskins Pride Caucus.” Petersen says some people he’s talk to are excited about it, others find it too emotional to comment on, while still others who want the name to change. “I resect people’s feelings. I don’t try and force anybody to get involved, but I just feel there’s so much negative attention, especially with the US Congress jumping into the issue and politicizing it.” Last month, 50 U.S. senators sent a letter to the team, urging a name change.
