A fatal accident in southern Albemarle. County Police say a woman identified as 47-year-old Sandra Gail Austin of Scottsville was killed Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Route 20 South. County Police say Austin was northbound on Scottsville Road when the 2000 Ford Mustang she was driving went off  the road and hit a tree. It happened near Carter’s Bridge at around 7:30 a.m. Police say the cause remains under investigation but it appears road conditions were a factor. Initial reports from the scene indicated roads were icy in that area of the county.
