Lexington Area Judge Rejects Plea Deal Involving Deadly Crash

A judge in the Lexington area has rejected a plea agreement for a onetime student at Washington and Lee University who’s accused of the death of a fellow student and injuries to several others. A Rockbridge County grand jury indicted Nicholas Hansel earlier this year on involuntary manslaughter and drunken driving charges. Hansel’s SUV was carrying ten fellow Washington & Lee students when it flipped over shortly after last Thanksgiving. 21 year-old Kelsey Durkin of New Canaan. Connecticut died as the result of that crash.
