Contest For New Fluvanna Sheriff Gets Second Entry

The contest for Fluvanna County Sheriff is a two-man race. Mark Belew has formally announced he’s running. Belew held a kickoff Tuesday morning on the steps of the Old Fluvanna Courthouse in Palmyra. Belew says he has 15 years of experience in law enforcement and is a life-long resident of Fluvanna. He has already set up an e-mail account at belewforsheriff@gmail.com. Belew is joining Interim Sheriff Eric Hess in the race to succeed Ryant Washington, who recently resigned so he could join Governor McAuliffe’s administration in Richmond.
