“Turn right on red after stop” means just what it says. Albemarle Police conducted a red light operation on State Farm Boulevard at 250 East Wednesday, and pulled over 25 red light violators in two hours. Officer Jonathan Hickory was surprised by the bumper crop of tickets he and other officers handed out. “In response to citizen complaints, we set up the operation and I wasn’t expecting to see that many myself but yes, 25 violations in two hours is quite a bit.” The drivers ticketed were making a right from State Farm onto 250 East. There were no tickets for drivers turning left.
